Hoy Les traemos otra historia de las que ponen los pelos de punta, de las que emocionan. Otra lección de vida para que todos tomemos nota. Se trata de Ronnie y Donnie, que a sus 57 años son los gemelos siameses más longevos del mundo.
Según la nota publicada recientemente por The Sun, contra la opinión pesimista de sus médicos, de la gente... contra las trabas de cada día, contra los complejos... contra todo. Ellos caminaron hacia delante, rompieron estadísticas y han conseguido llevar una vida feliz. Ahora que su salud es más débil es cuando han decidido contar su historia y, según se lee en The Sun, ellos se han prestado a hacer un documental llamado Gente Extraordinaria que revelará los secretos de su vida juntos en Dayton, Ohio.
¿Por qué? No es cuestión de contar cuatro anécdotas sin más. Es el desafío del día a día, la lucha sin tregua desde el primer minuto, demostrar que querer es poder a la hora de conseguir la felicidad. Pero Ronnie y Donnie no quieren presumir, sino ayudar. Quieren dar esperanza a Lisa, una mujer británica embarazada de dos gemelos siameses unidos por el tronco.
Tienen cuatro brazos y cuatro piernas que coordinar y gustos y pertenencias diferentes. Por eso muchas veces acaban discutiendo. Si uno sube el volumen de la tele, el otro lo baja... pues cosas de hermanos que quedan en nada, porque luego son el uno para el otro. Por ejemplo, Donnie tiene miedo a la oscuridad y Ronnie le abraza para que pueda dormir. Maravilloso.
Lo más fascinante es la armonía que tienen. ¿Se imaginan la solidaridad que hace falta por parte de cada uno cada vez que el otro tiene que hacer una cosa? Increíble. Cuentan que una de las cosas que más les ha costado es que les traten como lo que son: dos personas diferentes. "Es lo que son, tienen sus propias vidas", dice su hermano pequeño.
